Working Holiday Visa – Best temporary accommodation to be familiar with the city and find an apartment for rent.

Hey all, next month I'll be going to Japan for a year with a WHV and I'll be living in Osaka for the first couple of months (maybe the entire time). Initially my plan is to live in a hostel for a couple of days or so to get to know fellow travellers and locals and get a feel of the city. Though I think I want to explore other options, like opting for a capsule hotel and just meet people in common areas, bars, izakayas, for instance. My main intention is that I'll be using that time to look for a good location find a rental apartment to live. I got everything else sorted out and planned like work, phone number, and other things but the accommodation I want to look for advice from people that are more familiar with the area. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking for either:

– Accommodation recommendations

– Location recommendations

– Apartment hunting recommendations (UR?)

– General local advice about the city

First time going out of the country by myself so this is all super exciting for me, very much looking forward to next year and hope all goes to plan.
