So I came to Japan on a tourist visa, and applied for a Certificate of eligibility. After about a month and a half, i was approved for 3 years! The thing is, me and my wife are both traveling to America in three days. I opted in for email notification, in case it didn’t arrive before I left so that we can avoid having to ship it to America after my wife returned alone. If I have to apply for visa while in America, my nearest embassy is three hours away from my home. I am wondering if it is possible to go to the immigration here in Osaka, and receive a visa/ residence card the same day or at least prior to leaving Japan. I have only found one case of someone mentioning being able to but they were in a more remote area of Japan. Wondering it’s anyone had any experience with this!
