Has anything changed with this? I am moving to Okinawa in 2025 and want to bring my motorcycle. Everything I've seen says this is incredibly challenging and must go through Tokyo. I also saw that someone in Okinawa would handle the whole process for $2k, which is worth it, but sending it through Tokyo would not be possible. Shipping it there in my move is free, so I would rather bring it with me than buy a bike there. Please let me know if getting a bike to the island has become feasible in 2024/25.
