so im a trans woman and plan on moving to japan at a later time. my country allows for legal gender change but i kind of don't care about having my "dead name" and old gender on documents and contracts, and it's kind of a hassle to change everything, so right now, these are the same as before transition.
now, i've read all the things about no gay marriage and having surgery to change gender in japan. again, i don't care about the legal gender or having surgery and as far as i know me not changing gender can be a loophole in marrying a girl. but i wonder if i can encounter any other legal, or work problems if i DON'T change my legal gender before?
i do pass enough to be "mistaken" as a real woman, and will be going under HRT, so i wonder if that would cause me problems in a language school, work and visa opportunities or other legal procedures in japan when they see i'm registered as a male legally.
any experiences with this and tips will be appreciated. thanks!
