My wife (24) and myself (25) are becoming disenchanted with our current living in Arizona, USA. I am on the edge of pursuing a new career in aviation and leaving HVAC behind, but I am not opposed to a different direction. I understand tech and teaching seem to be the big employement opportunities in Japan. Would becoming an English teacher be a serious possibility?
We are both currently learning Japanese but are far off from being able to confidently speaking. If we develop a more serious approach to considering a move to Japan, learning would become a major focus in our lives as I am sure it would be a huge help in securing living, employement, and immersing into the country as a whole.
My wife is a massage therapist. Are there employment opportunities for a white western woman in environments such as Japanese resorts, spas, etc.? Would they prefer to hire Japanese over Americans?
While in it's infancy, we wish to explore different living situations abroad and am hoping to gain clarity on the obstacles we can expect to encounter in moving to Japan, among other locations.
