Could someone explain why 90s NJPW is not looked back to as fondly as 90s AJPW in the west? Even though NJPW performed on par, or even better in terms of attendance/popularity in Japan.

This is something I have been thinking about for a while, and I honestly see so little talked about when it comes to 90s NJPW compared to AJPW. When I was younger, I even used to assume that the 90s must have been a big down period for NJPW due to this, but they would often run multiple huge Tokyo Dome and other stadium shows per year. Could any possibly older or simply more informed people explain why this discrepancy in interest from western fans exists?

I understand that part of this is due to it being impossible to upload matches and produce video essays about NJPW on youtube. So most people in their 20s and 30s grew up being more exposed to old AJPW and NOAH. But it seems like tape traders in the 90s were way more interested in AJPW back then.
