Who do you think will be Shingo’s challenger for WK19?

Currently New Japan is now on their road to power struggle tour with it ending at Power Struggle Nov 4th. The main event is ZSJ vs Shingo Takagi for the IWGP title. Now we know shingo is not winning this match since he's not only the never openweight champion. And new japan are not going to belt up one guy with two important titles for the dome. It would just book themselves into a corner all over again.

With shingo being a important talent that can deliver at that high level at the dome. He would need a big match at WK. Naito & Hiromu won't be available since both of them will probably be facing each other. That the biggest match they could possibly do for the dome. Tsuji is certainly going to have his rematch against Finlay for the global title. Shingo has a good amount of talent he can go up against. But it certainly has to be one that will be big for the dome. Right now i can see 3 picks being his opponent.

Three Picks:

  1. Gabe Kidd: Current Strong Openweight champion. They fought three times this year and their last 2 bouts were excellent. They can easily make it for both titles. Since they realistically don't need two openweight belts. They can talk about pride for new japan and go from there.
  2. Oiwa: He just returned from excursion and he just fought shingo in a great match. It would be their second match together.
  3. Cobb: Their WK15 match was one of the many reasons why that show was great. Cobb is free and can just challenge for the title and then go to war once again at the dome.
