Hi all, are there amateur astronomers here? End of february will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see all planets in one night, but I haven't got my telescopes here in Japan. Are there any astronomy clubs or amateur astronomers in or around Kyoto who would take me with them to view the planets? I also speak a little Japanese, and have some experience with astronomy and carrrying heavy telescopes.

Kyoto University has an observatory [here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/xTkL7pCjaJBz3Rk39), so if they have a pubic event it would almost certainly be there. (It’s not a public place so you can’t just roll up.) So perhaps check at Kyoto University.
There’s that dude on the northern edge of Gion who has a freaking observatory dome in his house, but I’ve never seen it move and I suspect he’s passed on or it’s no longer in use.
What’s the date?
I would be interested in joining in if possible! Seems fun
There is an astronomy club in Kyoto city! I’ve seen them gathering along the Kamo. I’m sorry I don’t have any info on them, other than they do exist (and seem
like a lovely bunch!)
I would like it, but I live outside kyoto and going by night it’s very hard to me now.
Following! We’ll be in the area until March 3, it’d be awesome if there were a family friendly event
