I'm going to Japan next month and want to pick up a wide range of books to last me for a while. I'm currently trying to get to the N5 level but I want to buy books through to around N3 whilst there and stock up as I'm not sure when I'll get to visit again.
The stuff I read in the west is usually Fantasy / sci-fi but happy to read a mix of other stuff as I'll be using them as a learning tool really more than the actual content of the book.
I like anime, I've not read any manga so open to manga suggestions too but the word to size and weight ratio of a manga when I've a limited case size not sure how much I can get there. Light novels are probably better?
Edit: Feel free to ignore the N levels, just throw your favourite Japanese literature at me that's on the easy side of the spectrum. As I say Im just getting it in advance if being the level I need for it as I don't know when I'll next get to go back.
