(Note: I live in Japan but asking in behalf of an acquaintance)
Does anybody have direct experience about getting an Engineering visa with a 2 year degree?
Specifically this is regarding someone with a French DUT which this immigration website classifies as 短期大学:
https://eng.daikou-office.com/list/humanities/
Which I guess is a bit better than 専門学校
I have read that only 専門学校 within Japan are eligible for an Engineering visa visa, but I don’t know if that’s the case for Tanki Daigaku.
The person in question does have over 10 years experience so they could always go that route, but it’s much easier to provide the degree than 10 years of pay slips if the degree is sufficient.
By the way I don’t see anything on immigration’s website about any of this. I don’t even see where they mention the 4 year degree or the 10 years experience conditions. Happy to get pointers to any valid sources. Thanks.
