So I have these installed right now:
- Wanikani
- Marumori
- renshuu
- Bunpro
Soo uhh they have their pros and cons, currently doing Wanikani and I plan to use this along side another app.
Marumori, kinda not for me as I don’t have the patience and time and the mobile app is still in beta. Graphics are nice but I just wanna get into action. Learning kanji reading at N5 is just not for me. It’s not sticking well. Overall a good app, but I find the words too by the book and not really usable in real life. I know learning grammar is important, but I plan to learn grammar through immersion or in the latter part of my Japanese language learning journey.
renshuu, my first love. The app UI/UX sucks big time and I hope they update it to a friendlier UI/UX. I learned a shit ton of kanji and vocab here, less hand holding but the multiple choice and lack of learning trajectory is kinda tricky for me. I want to use renshuu alongside Wanikani but I’m not sure how to do it.
Bunpro, just tested this yesterday. They just launched their mobile app yesterday and it’s really good. I have yet to test and do the lessons, I like the in your face no-nonsense vocab and grammar lessons. But the lack of kanji quizzing is a con for me.
Yes, I do listening and immersion, yes I read native materials. I just want to hear your thoughts on an app that I can stick with alongside Wanikani.
