Hi all!
I am planning my first visit to Ishigaki island in the beginning of June and have a couple of questions I can’t seem to find straightforward answers to:
For those of you living in Okinawa – how bad are typhoons around early June? I read they usually hit mostly around July/ Aug but I am a bit scared of planning a 4 night getaway and possibly being stuck on the island.
Also how long do airports usually stop operating when they hit? (I have 0 clue about typhoons and whether all or just some can lead to airport closures) I plan to schedule Ishigaki towards the very end of my overall trip but wonder if I should calculate with 2-3 days on the mainland before going back to Europe just in case..
What’s your experience with box jellyfish around that time of year?
And the more general question just in case if anyone has a must-do/ see activity!
