I’m not sure if David Finlay extended his contract. But with the angle around EVIL kicking Wardogs out of bullet club and facing Finlay in the NJC, if he beats Tsuji it seems likely to me, that Finlay will go over and wins the cup.
If he does I would assume he extended his contract. And if he really did I could see Gedo trying to establish him as the top heel, bullet club leader and new world champion.

Edit: also makes a lot of sense to get one of the young guys over as the next ace. Chasing a strong heel champ always is an easy story to write. Taking the belt from Finlay at WK after a long reign could create a new top face. I could see Yuya in this role, but ofc it could be Tsuji/Shota also.
