This is just one single data point, but since it is recent, I think it is worth sharing it in order to start a healthy discussion about salaries in Japan. Job starts right away in August.
I saw the ad in TeachAnywhere and here is the link:
https://www.teachanywhere.com/jobs/secondary-biology-teacher-aug-2024-japan_japan_43735491/
Benefits:
- An annual bonus of up to 1 month's salary.
- Full health insurance coverage for teachers as well as dependents.
- Onsite full-furnished accommodation provided.
- Return Airfare and baggage allowances.
- Remission on tuition fees for up to two (2) dependent children attending the School.
- Free annual ski pass and use of onsen, discount on golf course fees.
- Termly return shinkansen tickets to Tokyo.
So… what do you think? At the current conversion rate the salary would be 60-80 man yen per month.
