This is just a rant more than anything, but why are there so many damn words with the meaning of circumstance, state of affairs and situation? How am I to differentiate them properly?

事態　事情　様子　状況　状態　現状

Not to mention the overlap with

事実　実際　場合　都合 etc.

And don't get me started on 用。
