In wake of whatever trump is doing in the USA, and in order to support the buyfromEU campaign, I recommend using verasia.eu to buy physical copies of books/stationary for my fellow EU人.
Prices are reasonable, and even cheaper than on Amazon (when buying manga) albeit no free shipping.
Following
Total=Shipping+Cost rather than
Total=Free shipping + (Cost + shipping) like Amazon, it's still cheaper.
based in spain, so there's no import tax or anything, shipping naturally doesn't take long (pretty much the same as amazon) so yeah.
hope this reaches the right audience.
(when talking about manga I mean those written in Japanese – those of your language are probably available in your local book store)

Lol… because screw German
There is also https://www.aprendejaponeshoy.com/es/ It’s only in Spanish and Portuguese and I’m not sure about shipping to the rest of Europe, but it’s the web I’ve been getting my Japanese books from in past couple of months.
Edit: just checked and there is international shipping!
There is also italian site [link](https://verasia.it/) if anyone is interested.
I bought 4 textbooks (minna no nihongo 1 – 4) amd 2 minna no nihongo workbooks, and also dictionary of basic japanese grammar and 3 books for jlpt from them. Delivery time was around 1 week from me (I’m from Slovenia) and alsp worth mentioned is, they really make packages with care so all the books are delivered pristine. I am really happy with them
Fortunate I live in Poland. Believe it or not, Amazon is totally not a thing, and we have a local solution to exploit small businesses.
You can also buy Japanese books and manga (and even some textbooks) digitally on sites like bookwalker.
Wow!! Thank you so much for this 🙏
Too bad they don’t have the books I’m interested in😔
Verasia has one of my favourite books (by one of my favourite authors) at a relatively affordable price – [Kamisama](https://verasia.eu/reading/1459-kami-sama-japanese-novel-written-by-hiromi-kawakami-9784122039056.html). A wonderful mix of the magical and the everyday. I read it relatively early (a year or so) without too many issues. Highly recommend.
Though… in general I find Verasia to be kinda limited. They have lots of manga and JLPT-stuff, but not a huge variety of JP literature. Amazon is a joke up here in the nordics anyway so the only other option I found was Yesasia. They’re not based in the EU so the shipping takes ages, but they stock lots of good books and I haven’t had any problems with either of my 2 orders so far. [Kamoku na Shigai Midara na Tomurai](https://www.yesasia.com/global/kamoku-na-shigai-midara-na-tomurai/1003415302-0-0-0-en/info.html) and [Kami no Kodomo-tachi wa Mina Odoru](https://www.yesasia.com/global/after-the-quake-kami-no-kodomo-tachi-wa-mina-odoru/1003897056-0-0-0-en/info.html) are two books I can recommend here, both being short story collections with fascinating structures – the first one is almost kaleidoscopic in how the stories connect, and the latter has stories with a missing thematic center (the Kobe earthquake). Cool books.
If I was more proactive I’d set up a group in my class and order a whole bunch of books all at once for the discounts, but most folks in JP classes are way too scared of books so that never happened 😐
