Hey everyone,
We’ll be staying in Onna and plan to rent a car for our trip, picking it up from Naha Airport when we arrive. Our flight departs from Naha on the morning of April 24, and we’re a bit concerned about returning the car in time before our flight.
Ideally, we’d like to use the car until the very end to make it easier to manage our baby, stroller, and luggage. However, if returning it on the 24th isn’t practical, we’re considering dropping it off a day earlier and using a bus/taxi for our final night at Moon Beach, Onna.
Does anyone have experience with car rental returns for early flights? Are there any recommended return locations or strategies to avoid last-minute stress?
Thanks in advance!

How about calling ur rental company and working with them on it? Or is that too obvious?
You’ll have to check with your specific rental company but I can’t think of a time I had a rental from anywhere that didn’t offer some type of early return.
That being said if your flight is so early that the rental won’t be open you’d probably be better off dropping it off late the night before and getting a room for one night in Naha. Otherwise you’re looking at like 1.5-2 hours each way via bus, or an hour and around $80 each way by taxi.
If you go that route Kokusai street would be a good area to kill your last evening here if you haven’t been. Major tourist trap, but stuff to do and can buy souvenirs
