Amazon Japan Delivery Quality Dropping? Anyone Else Noticing This?

I’ve been in Japan for 7 years, and back when I first arrived, Amazon deliveries were mostly handled by Yamato or Sagawa. The service was smooth, and I rarely had any issues.

But in recent years, I’ve noticed that deliveries are now handled directly by Amazon, and the quality has dropped. The delivery people seem like random part-timers—sometimes they even look like office workers doing deliveries in their free time. Deliveries are often late, and I’ve had a few cases where the status says “delivered,” but the package is nowhere to be found.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did something change with Amazon’s delivery system in Japan? Curious to hear others’ experiences!
