Hi everyone
Been digging through the sub at different posts and have gained a lot of really helpful advice from folk who have been in similar situations – but I'm looking for some advice from people who have a good knowledge of the IT/Tech job market in Japan
Brief context: I'm 32 and like many others I've been infatuated with Japan since being around 11/12 and even moreso after visiting. With where my life is I want to take the plunge and see if I can make the move a reality.
I have a degree in UX/UI Design, however part way through my degree I kinda lost the spark for things which also wasn't helped by it being mid-pandemic – fast forward a couple of years and I'm back working within IT in Software Support, altogether have around 7 years of experience with me working in IT prior to university and the natural progression within my workplace right now would be a role in one of the development teams, either in a programming capacity or the project management side of things.
What role would be best suited to the job market? And programming wise would back end development have a higher demand over front end? In regards to my Japanese I'm between N5/4 right now and making good progress – but honestly I'm not coming at this thinking I want it done in 6 months, totally appreciate this may take some time.
Any advice is much appreciated though and TIA!
