Some questions about moving on a spousal visa as a software engineer

Hey, my wife, and I are thinking about moving to Tokyo, her hometown. Currently we live in Europe. I have 4-5 years of experience working as a Software Engineer full time in relatively big companies, but I haven't graduated yet. I plan to do that very soon. Should I apply for my COE after graduating only, or does it not matter?

How helpful would a masters degree be? I'm actually not too far from being able to write my thesis.

Also what should my salary expectations look like? I was thinking something like 10M seems reasonable, but some comments here make me think otherwise. My skills are mostly in Backend Engineering using C#, and Java, with the usual frameworks, some Angular Typescript Frontend experience, and some Cloud experience using Azure and AWS. I've also heavily been involved in CI/CD, and deployment processes. My japanese is probably around N3 level, but I plan to take the exam before looking for a job!
I have an apprenticeship in something finance related as well, if that matters.

We could probably live with my in-laws for a few months. Do you think it would be easier to wait for my visa, and then look for jobs, since I wouldn't require any visa sponsorship?
