Looking for foreigners in Osaka fascinated by vintage Japanese signs for a short documentary!

Hi everyone!
I’m a university student in Osaka making a short personal documentary film about foreigners who collect or are fascinated by vintage Japanese signs and Showa-era aesthetics.

I'm looking for someone who:
– lives or visits in the Osaka/Kansai area
– collects or buys vintage Japanese signs (like enamel signs, retro shop boards, handwritten price tags, etc.)
– would be okay with being filmed while exploring or buying these things

This is a personal student project and won’t be used commercially. I speak both Japanese and English, and filming would only take a few hours.

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), please DM me!
Thanks so much for reading!

  1. Such a cool project – will you be able to share it here when you are done?

  2. I appreciate them, and love wandering through crusty old shotengai to check out all the old signage and shops that still remain thanks to the protection of the covered streets, but I don’t feel the need to hoard things up for a personal collection. Is people buying and collecting things a requirement for your project?

  3. Wow, I would love to see your little video when it’s all done please.

Please post in the sub when it is done.
