Should I take the GRE? (Graduate program at FSE, Waseda University)

I'm planning to apply for a master's at the School of Fundamental Science & Engineering (FSE), Waseda University, in the English program, specifically aiming for either Ishikawa or Simo-Serra labs (Simo-Serra lab isn't currently taking students as per the lab website). However, I noticed on Professor Ishikawa's lab website that he strongly recommends including TOEFL and GRE General Test scores in the application, and if possible, a GRE Subject Test score in Computer Science or Mathematics. He mentions that without these scores, he tends to deny admittance unless the applicant has exceptional grades from a globally renowned university.

Has anyone been selected by Ishikawa lab? Is GRE a significant factor for selection or rejection? And if GRE is a must, then what score should I target?
