Would be happy if you shared your experience so I can get a more realistic outlook. This is not a throwaway account so I don't want to be too specific. I'm moving next year for language school hoping to get up to N2 or N1. I'm currently close to N4, just homing in on a few remaining Kanji. The lady at the language school told me I'm almost certainly not gonna find a job afterwards if I signed up which was surprisingly direct and blunt as I didn't even ask her about that. Osaka people are built different I guess.

-Master's degree in a non-tech engineering discipline
-8 years of work experience
-traveling the world since one year basically unemployed
-extensive knowledge on economics, personal finance and investing in stocks etc. but all self taught so nothing to show off. Basically retired early right now
-Native language German, English is okay I guess. I used English for work for a couple of years and got almost full score at TOEFL
