I know this sounds so silly because yeah i'm half Japanese so you would imagine it should be easy. I don't have to go through visa stuff, plus i am bilingual. However, no matter where I look most of the well known companies and systems like Jet programme or ECC etc – they wont accept applicants who have Japanese citizenship. Which of course is kinda understandable but it puts people like me who are mixed in a bit of a confusing position.
I am eligible in all the other areas, iv lived in the UK my entire life, have a bachelors degree, I also have a UK citizenship. (I know theres technically "no dual citizenship" rules in Japan but most half people know that as long as you don't wave around both of them at the airport you're good to keep both.)
Anyway, I don't want to revoke my Japanese citizenship like most of the websites tell me to in order to apply. I imagine there must be lots of mixed people like me who are teaching in Japan just fine, i just cant seem to find much info on how to go about it cus most of the info and guides is about the JET or ECC stuff.
I'm guessing I would just have to obtain a tesol or tefl myself and then go about it from there probably?
If anyone has any advise or experience with this i would appreciate it a lot if you could share!
