Scenes from a Daruma Burning Festival in January

Photographing one of the Daruma Burning Festivals in Japan has been on my bucket list for a while. I was finally able to find some time to pop up in January and capture some of the scenes at a local festival. This one was so much fun to capture that I've already marked my calendar for some events next year.

  1. These are insanely amazing! Thank you for sharing. Number two made me giggle…bottom gentleman’s eyes speak so eloquently 🤣

  2. I have one these from Katsuoji, it’s been a year and he still only has one eye filled in because my wish hasn’t come true unfortunately.

  4. I don’t remember what a Daruma was

Something about it being a Buddhist priest at one point in a story?
