Hi! I'm doing a university exchange next year in Japan, and I was wondering if it is that uncommon to see a 5'5 (168cm) girl there, from a Japanese person's point of view? Also, I'd like to add that I fancy slightly heeled shoes, making me a bit taller on the daily (around 5'6/172cm).
I know that the "average" Japanese woman is much shorter, around 5'2 (150cm-ish), so that makes me a bit worried… I'll already be seen and talked to as a 外人, so I don't want people to be even more scared to talk to me because of my height :/
For some context, I want to try and make Japanese friends, as I want to improve my proficiency in the language, as well as making friends from there. Don't worry, I am aware that Japanese people tend to be on the shyer and more avoidant side, especially while interacting with a 外人, that's a whole other conversation which I already considered.
Please be honest —even if the answer might not please me—, any advice is welcomed.
bye bye 🙂
edit: thank you for your replies, it reassured me a lot ❤️
