I have 10 paid vacation days in my contract and I asked for 3 paid vacation days (a thu,fri, and the monday to get 5 days) to go on a short trip. I asked 3.5 weeks in advance and they refused. I have not used any paid vacation days yet because I only reached 6 months working at the shitty dispatch company last month.
Here is what they said:
Basically, paid leave can be taken at the individual's request, but since you work at a school, which is a special workplace, you can only take paid leave on the condition that it does not interfere with the educational activities at the school where you are dispatched. I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to approve your request, as the class plan for the third semester has already been decided and your requested schedule requires you to be at work.
Keep in mind that during those 3 days that I requested I am scheduled for 5 (50 min) classes in TOTAL where I am not even T1.
Is this allowed?? Should i battle to get these days off or just call in sick the day of?
