Port town of Tomonoura

Port town of Tomonoura, famous for many reasons, to include inspiring the setting for Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, used as a filming location for The Wolverine, and where Sakamoto Ryoma, a Japanese samurai in the late Edo period, and key figure in bringing about the Meiji Restoration, spent a few days hiding out.

Enjoyed the stay in this little town, between the shops, food, scenic views, and the friendly locals, the visit was well worth it.
