absolutely stunning, Kyoto really comes alive at night ✨
We loved it here when we visited. The slow movement of the water and the trees trailing down were part of our daily walks.
So peaceful! Where exactly was this?
When I was in Kyoto few months back I got off at Higashiyama and walked down to Kawaramachi via the Shirakawa. Most people are down closer to Gion anyways so if you start further up and work your way down there is less crowds and a bit more to see.
Like previous post says, it’s near Nyaushin temple. If you walk past Yasaka Shrine (towards left, if you’re facing the gate of the shrine/right if you’re leaving it) and take the second right towards Higashiyama station, you’ll find this street.
I had the great joy of staying here when I last visited Japan. I adored Higashiyama.
