Hi Everyone,
I'm from the UK and I plan to study in a Japanese language learning school this year on a student visa. My primary intention is to learn Japanese and make enough to support some cost of living bills.
Is teaching English part time possible while you are studying in Japan? As in would there be agencies willing to take someone who is only planning to work part time while i pursue schooling?
If I am only planning to teach part time/ until my Japanese improves enough to be able to find other part time jobs like maybe a convenience store worker, would it still be worth going for a TEFL? If so how many hours of accredditation would be the sweet spot?
Lastly, would it be illegal/bad if I did private tutoring in Japan without using a company? I would of course document class times/ cash recieved etc to make sure I am working within the rights of a student visa but I was worried that starting private work may breach some kind of rules. Would I also need some kind of clearing/ certification to work with children? If so what is it called?
Thank you for your help!
