Im military and moving there soon. Was told to have a good amount of money saved. Which is reasonable but I want to make sure I’m on the right track or should I work a little harder to save. So by the time I leave in a couple months I’ll have $12k for sure hopefully a little more as long as no financial emergencies come up.
I am single officer, no kids, was told to have at least first and last months rent for the deposit, which for me will be about 225000 yen. I also was told to put away so much for a car. I was thinking around $3-4k usd
Am I missing anything? Like fees to account for or general things you wished you allotted money too?
I’ve looked online and on here and feel like this is the right track but sometimes there’s unique experiences people run into that I’d like to be prepared for.
I was also told sometimes OHA doesn’t pay out right away? So id likely need to cover the first few months of rent on my own. Anything helps.
