I’m moving to Tokyo in September to do a shoemaking course in Arakawa in the north of Tokyo. I’ve been looking on Sakura house and various other websites at share houses and even apartments but I’m struggling to settle on an area I want to be in. Ideally, I’d like to live somewhere that is easily accessible to the school in Arakawa as well as accessible to major areas like Shinjuku and Koenji. I’ve been told Tokyo can be overstimulating when living in Shinjuku so somewhere quiet would be preferable. I’d be happy to commute about 30 minutes to school if needed, I’d also like to look into getting a bike.
Does anyone have any recommendations of where might be a nice area that takes all this into account?
