Where to stay in Okinawa with 2 kids ( 3 and 5)

Hi –

We are traveling to Okinawa mid -August , staying for 7 days, we have 2 kids 3 and 5. We will be renting a car.

I am having a hard time deciding where to stay – ideally somewhere convenient to explore the island during the day and close to activity for kids ( beach , park etc) but also close enough to Naha so that my husband and I can enjoy the food scene and go out a bit (my mom will be coming with us so we can leave the kids at home in the evening).

We loved the pork shabu restaurants in Naha last time we came to visit (pre-kids) and would definitely like to plan a few meals there.
