Hello, this is my situation:
I am 21 years old, male, from Italy. I have a diploma but not a degree and I'm not currently in university. I'm a "computers guy", my job is in the programming and development industry, I've been coding since I was 10. I am also efficient with 3d modeling software (I mainly do 3d anime characters models, but I have been modeling since 2015). I know enough Japanese to get by, I've been there for 2 weeks and had no issues talking to people, and I've been studying the language for 4 years.
My goal for the future is to move to Japan. And to do so, you need a visa, and to do so, you need a degree. So far so good.
I now have 2 possibilities: a computer science degree, a course that would take me 4-ish years and would make it more likely for me to get a job I like in Japan.
Or a languages degree, which would take me 3 years or a little less, but would make it less likely to find a job I like in Japan.
So the pros and cons of each are
Computer science pros: makes job finding easier
Cons: lasts longer, it's way harder, I'd have to start next year because the entry time limit ended a month ago.
Languages pros: is shorter and more enjoyable (I really like language studies), I can start in September.
Cons: makes it harder to find a job in Japan.
Now, there is a third path, but it's the riskiest one, that is to dedicate the next year or so to becoming really really good at modeling, and somehow use that fact to get a visa without a degree, altho I'm not certain how that would be possible, but I assume people have done it in the past, so I'm curious.
So, out of the 3 paths, which ones do you guys think I should go for and why? thanks!
