  1. Imagine if, in 2015, people avoided visiting the US because of Biff Tannen. Same logic.

  2. Hong Konger here. Just went to the Osaka Expo and currently planning another trip!

  3. My main worry with this is that Japan has earthquakes all the time. It really would not be that unusual for one to occur next month. And if it does, these idiots will forever follow this prophet who can predict natural disasters 🙄

  4. The prediction is from a Japanese Manga and quite a lot of people are talking about it on Japanese forums. I can’t wait for next month to see what excuse everyone will make.

  5. HKer here. The media has been aggressively pushing the earthquake rumors lately, not sure where the trend came from. Honestly, I’m fine with people canceling their trips if it means cheaper plane tickets and hotels for the rest of us 😭

  6. Tourists visit: they are ruining public order eating all our rice and taking up all the public resources!

Tourists don’t visit: please come it’s just a manga everything is good here

  7. It’s not disaster rumors causing cancellations it’s people noting what Japan and its people are doing to tourists. Overcharging and putting up two tier systems, rejecting foreigners from restaurants and the removal of duty free tax. You sow what you reap. It’s your country do what you like. But it’s the tourists money, they spend it where they are appreciated and welcomed. Downvote if your feelings and the truth hurt.
