Hi everyone,
I’m interested in watching movies that focus on Japan during World War II—but specifically ones that are told entirely from the Japanese perspective. I’m not looking for films with a Western-centric narrative or ones that shift to Allied viewpoints. I’m more curious about how Japanese filmmakers have portrayed the war, whether it’s from the civilian, soldier, or even political perspective.
It could be historical, dramatic, critical, or even animated—I’m open to any genre. Subtitled is totally fine.
Would really appreciate your recommendations!
Thanks in advance
