First time visiting okinawa in august, been to japan a handful of times mostly the golden triangle. my gf and I booked an "all day" snorkeling tour off of trip advisor. I know they will take us out to sea but I doubt theyll take us to the island beaches. My question being is to get the most out of the snorkeling that okinawa has to offer, is the guided tours the best or should we ferry out to the island on our own? is the snorkeling out at sea different or similar to what you get closer to the shore?
