G1 Predictions?

Outside of a possible Hiromu run if he makes it in through the play ins, I don’t see any of the play ins being in the mix late. Since we don’t yet know who those last 4 are, here’s where I have things as of now. Curious to see where the rest of you are:

Favorites:

A Block: Goto, Tsuji, EVIL

B Block: Shingo, ZSJ, Kidd

Dark Horses:

A Block: Finley, Uemura

B Block: Umino, O-Khan

Long Shots:

A Block: Oleg, Sanada, Tanahashi

B Block: El Phantasmo, Narita, Takeshita (only because of the triple contracted stuff)

Overall I have Tsuji over EVIL in the A Block semis and Shingo over ZSJ in the B Block semis. Tsuji over Shingo in the finals.

  1. Have to assume they took the belt from Tsuji to hand him the g1. I think despite him not being the most ready person of his peers they’ve decided they’re going with him regardless.

    Probably he and Hiromu in the finals?

  3. I’m guessing one of the last 4 is definitely Oiwa. I’m also thinking Taichi makes a return to the G1, that’s my second prediction. I have a feeling Callum is gonna be part of this. And finally Drilla Moloney might make his G1 debut since he didn’t appear in the BOSJ and I’m hoping they put him in the same block as SANADA. Another extra guess from me is that Henare might be in the G1 but there’s no sign for that.

  4. Oleg and ELP shouldn’t be under long shots, I think Oiwa has a higher chance of winning than both of them and he isn’t even in the tournament.

    Goto should be under dark horse IMO.

    I think Tsuji has the highest chance of winning, and it’s much higher than anyone else. Honestly Uemura has a higher chance of winning than anyone from B Block too. If Uemura vs Tsuji is the final match of A Block, I might actually give the edge to Uemura instead, since Tsuji won their last match.

    I can see Gabe making it to the finals, but next to no shot of winning the whole thing.

    If I had my way, it’d be Uemura vs Gabe in the finals with Uemura winning it, but I’m expecting Tsuji vs Shingo like you said.

  5. I feel like Yuya is a favorite. Maybe not to the Tsuji or Gabe level, but I think that he’s more likely than ZSJ or EVIL at this time. I dunno.

  6. Tsuji wins it all.

    Beats Goto in ABlock to make it to final and then beats Kidd, Shingo, or ZSJ. Reasoning of why he faces any of them is obvious.

    Kidd- parallel career and lost Global title to him

    Shingo- his senior in LIJ

    ZSJ- lost to him in 2024 G1 finals
