I've been house-hunting for a while and recently got to visit the area, especially around the station, the price is really low compared to other Kyoto area, it also seems convenient with tons of shopping options, transport, shopping-mall ect..
But for some reason, the area didn't really click with me, I find the traffic really awful, and the overall area is pretty ugly, even the surrounding of Yamashina river do not make for a nice walk.
If you're a resident or know the area well, I'd love to hear what you love/hate about the place.
