Hello, everyone! I've always dreamed of living in Japan for a while. Didn't think it'd be possible for some time, but I finally visited Japan for the first time last year and realized that the dream may be achievable and, more importantly, now I want to do it more than ever!
For context, I'm 28F, no kids, single. I'll be quitting my job in August, already submitted my resignation. I'm thinking about going to Japan to study the language and travel for around 9 months. At first, I thought about going for the full year, however, that would be very expensive. I may not work in Japan at all, as I'd get some money from my country's government. Also, I have no plans to stay in Japan longer or live there permanently – I love my country and do not want to emigrate, just wish to have a little adventure before settling down.
So, after reading all that, I'm interested to hear from someone. Do you think it's worth to go to Japan for around 9 months, just to study japanese and travel, if I don't plan to live in Japan, nor would my future job require japanese? Has anyone done something similar? If yes, I'd be interested to hear how much it cost, if you don't mind revealing that.
Thank you in advance for all responses!
