Dear reddit,
I'd appreciate an advice on choosing the neighborhood to rent in, around Tokyo/Yokohama.
Inputs:
* Family of 4 with two teenager kids, so we'll be looking for a 3LDK.
* Office around Tokyo Sta / Nihombashi Sta.
* Kids will be studying in German School Yokohama (Yokohama Tsuzuki-Ku, close to Nakamachi-dai Sta)
* School has a few bus routes that go as far as Shinagawa / Ebisu / Meguro. Route map – https://buscatch.jp/rt/pc/bus_stop_map.php?lang=en&id=dsty#
* I'd really prefer living close to the waterfront if possible
* I'm looking for more of an urban lifestyle, not necessarily quiet suburbs – but having good vibes is nice to have, and this is not a super strict requirement
* I've been to Tokyo and Yokohama several times but did not visit too many residential neighborhoods.
* Mansion OK, house too
* Having a place for running/jogging nearby (park/river/boardwalk) is essential
There's many options, especially considering the shuttle, but so far I've narrowed it down to:
* Minatomirai. Waterfront, but longer commute to Tokyo and school. Expensive. But I really liked the oceanside.
* Den-en-chofu. Expensive, but close to the river and OK commute. Tamagawa is close.
* Tsuzuki-ku: school is reachable by bike, but commute to Tokyo is very long and seems to be a boring neighborhood
* Ebisu / Meguro – no idea, probably very expensive?
* Same for Shinagawa?
* Jiyugaoka ? Seems to have a nice vibe.
Thank you in advance!
