  1. We’re gonna get an NJPWxAEW Forbidden Dojo ran by Danielson & Shibata before GTA VI aren’t we

  2. I think the YL Zane started there. He then moved to the Noge dojo. As a matter of fact, the LA dojo just did an event. It’s on YouTube. NJPW Academy Cup 2025. It’s free.

  3. Isnt it somewhere in Santa Monica or is that just the house where the YL live while training? Either way, doesn’t surprise me the area is getting too expensive, all of LA is astronomical at this point

  4. It wouldn’t be the worst idea to have it be a joint training facility where wrestlers get to work both places

  5. Is it even being used that much? I feel like they should probably move to Jacksonville and have a NJPW/AEW hybrid dojo.

With some of the (semi-)retired guys working backstage at AEW (Bryan, Hero, Chuckie T, Malenko, Lynn, etc) on top of Shibata and Sky(?), you could have a hell of a “performance center”.

  6. If TK saves it, will the NJPW young fan boys still shit on the guy?

  7. Why is he asking aew? Wouldn’t you ask…ya know..the namesake of the dojo, njpw??
Plus they can crunch the numbers and maybe find another building to run in. Come out to the IE, its way cheaper than LA area properties.

  8. I hope they can at the very least find somewhere here in Southern California that’s more inexpensive, as dumb as that sounds considering how all of southern california is so expensive. Maybe moving the dojo to Ontario or Riverside since they’ve done shows there in the past.

  9. Shut it down. Don’t rely on other companies for rent. Focus on Japan and Asia.

If any foreigners want training they can go to the real NJPW and Stardom dojo for it. Charge them a premium for training and boarding.

  10. I don’t think it makes sense to keep the LA Dojo now that the US expansion has failed.

  11. Some points people may not be aware of:

Shibata was gone years ago, when they transitioned to the western-style training classes called NJPW Academy. He was saying here that they just straight up fired KUSHIDA in a similar manner that they fired himself. (Peps QRTed this and made it sound like Shibata was just recently fired.)

As far as I know, right now the “Dojo”; which has been only western style training classes for years now, they just still call the building “LA Dojo”; has basically just been a way for the separate affiliate company NJPW of America to try and make money to sustain itself, and for guys like Rosser, KUSHIDA, DKC, and Shane Haste to have jobs without NJPW having to consistently book them in Japan. Literally the only thing BushiRoad has gotten out of it since Shibata stopped being involved was Zane Jay, who they’re making go through the Noge Dojo anyways.

It’s a waste of money at this point & they should just get a small office building/warehouse to run the US store from.

Also Rocky Romero is heavily involved in it, and is a VP in NJoA, and I am willing to bet he’s the one trying to get Tony to spot them funding.

  12. Surely if this is isn’t profitable you should just close shop instead of begging for money. Since the current version isn’t doing anything anyway.

  13. no disrespect but I really don’t see what value a “dojo” run by Fred Rosser and The DKC (a guy they never had any interest in bringing to Japan for a reason).

like when it was an actual dojo run by Shibata with the intention of building main roster guys, or if it was KUSHIDA running it full time then yeah but in its current state?

  14. Leasing space in LA is not cheap, and they even rented out a house close by at the start. Between how much they were losing from all that, and how unwilling they are to accept that NJPW’s US expansion is a bust, I’m honestly surprised the dojo has lasted as long as it did. You’d think someone would have brought up cutting it during the pandemic years.

That being said, hasn’t Shibata been done with the LA Dojo for a while? It seems weird that he keeps his eyes on stuff there considering how things went with him and NJPW. If anything, it feels more like a Rocky thing since this dojo/academy is tied into his NJPW Strong shows. It wouldn’t surprise me if Rocky was able to finagle his way into keeping this thing going.

  15. Think the first class of guys Shibata trained are amazing most of them war dogs shame what happened to Alex and ren after Shibata left then it all went to 💩tbh how many guys apart from zayne are in the system over in Japan?

Move it to a cheaper place or dead it not like it’s not happened before.

  16. Strong/NJPW of America has proven to be a failed project. They should move on and focus on Japan. The same goes for Tamashii, which looks terrible.

By the way, what happened with the announcement of the partnership with other asian companies?
