Hello community friends!
I'm moving to Japan next month and looking to finalize temporary accommodation before the move.
I've shortlisted a few properties on Oakhouse in Yokohama (with 30-40 mins commute to my future workplace in Tokyo). But wanted to ask for recommendations here before making a decision.
In your personal experience, which Oakhouse property would you recommend in Yokohama or Kawasaki? Which locality is comfortable and safe? Easy commute to Tokyo? Reasonably priced rooms 12m² or bigger?
Any other considerations such as floor number, window facing direction, room location on the floor, etc.? Is it a hassle to go to 1F everyday to shower?
How is the availability of women-only houses and does it make any difference compared to regular mixed ones? Are there a lot of options with elevators? (I get joint flareups sometimes)
Any companies other than Oakhouse where it is easy to search and book rooms before entering Japan?
Also, do single people in their 30s/40s usually stay in sharehouses or social residences long term? And is this recommended?
Appreciate your inputs!
