How are hair dye and piercings seen in japan?

Hi, so I will be going to japan for a student exchange next spring and I am a little bit worried about my hair and piercings. From the research I did I found out that both hair dye and piercings are seen quite negatively in japan so I was wondering if anyone here has experience?

Last month I finally gave in and dyed my naturally brown hair pink. Originally, I intended to dye it brown again before leaving for the student exchange but I fell in love with the color more than I expected and now I'm reluctant to give it up. If I dyed it brown and then wanted to go back to pink I'd have to bleach it again and I'd rather not damage my hair like that unless it's necessary. To be clear, my hair is not some flashy eyesore color. Just this earthy tone of pink. Nothing neon or super flashy.

Next there are piercings. All of my piercings are located on my ears where I have 11 of them (12 if you count my industrial as two) but I really want to get a nostril by the end of the summer. Is that a bad idea? In general can these piercings cause me trouble? I don't want to take them out but I guess I could opt for hairstyles that cover most of them and some less visible jewelry or something?

I am a university student and from what I've heard these are more likely to get away with something like dyed hair and I know that the university where I am going doesn't have any rules against it but outside of school? Could this get me being frowned upon?
