A man in his 70s was accidentally left inside a train for about 5 hours on the Tobu Utsunomiya Line in Tochigi Prefecture.
On the night of the 4th, the train arrived at Shin-Tochigi Station at 11:41 PM as the last train of the day. After two station staff checked the train and closed the doors, the man, who had been drinking, was left asleep inside. The next morning, at around 4:40 AM, the train driver found him still on the train. Fortunately, the man’s health was fine.
Tobu Railway has promised to improve its interior inspections at all stations to prevent this from happening again.
