[OC] Japan in Focus, Spring – Day 4: Kagoshima, golden hour

I take you with me on my guided photography tours through Japan that happen bi-annually in fall and spring. 😊 Hope you‘ll enjoy.

My Instagram can be found on my Reddit profile.

As golden hour set in, we explored the streets of Kagoshima, capturing the warm light falling on trams, storefronts, and quiet lanes. Later, we headed up to the Shiroyama Observation Deck, where we watched the sun dip behind Sakurajima, turning the sky from orange to deep indigo as dusk settled over the city. To end the evening, we treated ourselves to a delicious dinner of kurobuta black pork, Kagoshima’s famous local specialty. The perfect finish to the day.

  1. There isn’t much to do in Kagoshima, but I enjoyed my time there. Taking the boat to an active volcano seemed a little silly to me, but I’m glad I did it.

Your photos really captured the essence of the quaint city. Very well shot

  2. I love those pictures. I’m gratefull that I have internet so I can at least enjoy the beauty of this country while sitting on my bed.

  3. Lovely pictures. My favorite moment in Kagoshima was climbing the Shiroyama observation deck in the morning and finding myself in the middle of 30 seniors doing morning radio gymnastics while watching the sunrise over Sakurajima.
