A 14-year-old middle school girl in Himeji, Japan, was arrested on July 1 for stealing a package left at someone's front door.
She admitted to the theft, saying she was curious about what was inside and took it. After opening it, she said it was “a letdown.” The package contained Korean seaweed, which she later gave to her friends.
The theft happened on June 18. The homeowner had ordered the item on Amazon and received a delivery confirmation with a photo while he was out. But when he got home around 2 p.m., the package was gone and only torn paper bags were found.
Police identified the girl through security camera footage after receiving a report.
