LDP Secretary-General Moriyama said on July 4 that he wants to end the temporary gas tax rate by March next year. While speaking with farmers in Aomori Prefecture, he said it’s important to finalize the decision in the December tax talks.
Earlier this year, an opposition-led bill to end the tax by July 1 passed the lower house but failed in the upper house, so it didn’t become law.
