  1. I wonder when these street karts would look completely out of place, even for the majority of foreign tourists?

  2. This is interesting, when i visited tokyo for the first time i was really shocked to see these karts they were a bit loud and the people riding them were mildly obese wearing those chartacter suits waving around, i honestly cringed they felt out of place, they did not mesh well with the scene.

Although my opinion does not matter since im a tourist, i’d love it if these karts are out
The whole thing feels more american than japanese.

  3. Based on the comments, these aren’t that popular, I guess 😂

I had fun with em anyway.

  4. I never see the point of blaming the tourists. I mean do they know any better than to trust the trustworthy Japanese businesses? More needs to be done in regulation

  5. I am sure the police were like, “Thank you, it needed to be done, but we still have to arrest you.”

  6. Are these things really that annoying to locals? Is it the noise? Or is it how dangerous they are to the traffic patterns?

I live in a tourist town in the states, by the ocean, and we have a similar service to these karts, and it’s never really bugged me all that much. But then again, they aren’t nearly as loud as these things are.

  7. Getting some “Free Luigi” vibes from this thread and I love it.

Also ironic because he set a Mario kart on fire 🔥

  8. Set him free, he did nothing wrong. Is there a petition we can sign or is this one of those “call your representative” type deals?

  9. Surprised it hasn’t happened sooner. I don’t know any resident who doesn’t despise these shitty things.

  10. if they didnt want these flammable street karts to be burned they should have them in an indoor building with indoor tracks so they are out of the public eye and easily torchable
