I know it’s a cultural thing bred into their athletes, but I really wonder what several months here and there or even a year off could’ve done for Tanahashi’s career. You can clearly see how painful it is for him to move in the ring. He’s one of my all-time favs and he nearly single-handedly carried the company on his back for the majority of the 2010’s but he is a shell of his former self and it’s a bit sad to see because I believe it was avoidable.
